Espadrille Inspirations for those waiting for summer

Espadrilles originated in the Pyrenees as a fun casual shoe with rope and rubber molded together on the flexible sole of the shoe.  Lauren Bacall made them popular in the movie Key Largo in 1948.  Fast forward a few years and I remember wearing them in the 1980′s when I was a kid.  They were brought back in fashion by the sitcom Miami Vice.   I had them in all the bright fun colors!  Oh they were so easy to slip on and fun for the summer.

Fast forward again to the summer of 2011!  Espadrille inspirations are everywhere.  From our feet to our fine paper!  Their bright colors, stripes, solids, and modern look has attracted a new preppy and stylish look that will soon be all the rage this summer.

For those looking for some “Espadrille Inspired” fine paper and gifts look at Boatman Geller’s espadrille designs.  From wine tags for summer parties to plates and placemats, these fun espadrille designs will be the talk of the party!  If you are looking for a modern way to dress up your fine papers look at the note sheet sets and flat note cards.   Espadrille is the fashion trend of Summer 2011!    Click here to see our Boatman Geller Collection
